Cuddli is a US-based company seeking Android developers in Zagreb, Croatia to build an exciting mobile dating app. We will initially target the Android platform followed by iOS. Our goal is to grow to millions of users.

We have an amazing product design that we expect will create joy for millions of users. However, we haven't written any code yet, so this is a really exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor with a new team while we both architect and build a product from scratch. Our founders are highly experienced and come from Microsoft, Universal Studios, and Verizon. We all have technical backgrounds and are platform-agnostic. As with any startup, our office is a very fast-paced environment and you will need to be able to recognize and adapt to changes very quickly.

As we are a startup, the team will initially work from the home office of our development manager who is resident in Zagreb. This is a contract-to-hire position; we expect permanent offers will be made to key personnel after our office in Zagreb is formally established.

We are seeking individuals with the following essential qualifications:

• Rock-solid Android development skills
• Usage of PHP MVC frameworks
• Knowledge of MySQL database
• Previously worked in a team environment (checking in code with more than 1 other person)
• Experience using Git and SVN
• High attention to detail
• Excellent written and spoken English. As an American company, we do everything in the English language.
• "Can-do" problem solving attitude.

Additional skills that are nice to have (or can learn fast):

• iOS development
• NoSQL development
• Scalability engineering

What is this job like? Day-to-day, you will be working with a small, tight-knit team to develop an Android application, ensure that the product matches the design (which could include major, sudden changes) and test your teammates' code. But it doesn't stop there. We really want you to take ownership of your code, think like a user of the product, and recommend changes that could make the user experience better (recommendations are always best when accompanied by code). Most importantly, we believe in high quality and we fix bugs before we write new code.
